Community Baby Shower

 August 05, 2023 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

The Florida Department of Health in Clay County (DOH-Clay) Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) will host a Community Baby Shower in celebration of World Breastfeeding Week from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Sat., Aug. 5 at Ascension St. Vincent’s Clay, 1670 St. Vincent’s Way, Middleburg, FL 32068.

The event will include guests from Ascension St. Vincent’s Clay, Healthy Start, Doula Nayo, Fatherhood Pride (Parental Responsibility Inspiring Dads Everywhere), North Florida OB/GYN and others. There will be raffles, food and giveaways.

August is National Breastfeeding Month, a month-long observance highlighting the important health benefits of breastfeeding for infants and mothers and promoting a greater understanding of breastfeeding as a key element in the healthy development of babies.

The theme for National Breastfeeding Month 2023 is "Breastfeeding: This is Our Why.” This theme underscores the significant role breastfeeding plays in providing children with the healthiest start in life.

We invite everyone to join us in observing National Breastfeeding Month. Whether you are a new or expectant parent, a healthcare provider, or someone who wants to support breastfeeding mothers, we believe your participation can make a significant difference.

Let us all support breastfeeding mothers, champion their rights, and work toward creating a society where breastfeeding is valued and supported as the norm.
