- Case Investigation - Gather specific details of a possible source, symptoms, contacts, and course of illness
- Surveillance - Systematically collect and analyze data pertaining to specific diseases, and syndromic surveillance
- Resource Reference - Facilitate access to community resources
- Education - Provide health/disease information, resources to healthcare professionals and the public (group presentations, written materials)
- Case Management - Provided for active tuberculosis patients
